| Dr. Yang joined WVU in 1982, after holding faculty positions at Edinburgh University (UK), University of Queensland (Australia) and Cornell University (sabbatical leave), and also working in petroleum industry. His research activities, both experimental and theoretical, lie in the fields of biotechnology/bioengineering, reaction engineering, and system analysis/modeling: Biotechnology/Bioengineering: Renewable Bioresource Technology; Plant Cell and Tissue Culture; Membrane Bioreactors; Bioactive Substances from Plants; Electropermeabilization; Nonlinear Oscillations in Bioreaction Systems. Reaction Engineering: Catalytic Membrane Reactors; Reactor Stability; Coal Gasification. System Analysis/Modeling: Nonlinear Dynamics of Biochemical and Chemical Reaction Systems; Numerical Methods and Neural Networks. Currently, Dr. Yang's research focuses on nanoparticles from green plants, renewable bioresource technology, hybrid neural networks, and controlled release of intra-cellular products from plants. | |
