ABSTRACT
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models are being used in chemical industries to simulate reactive flow behavior in an attempt to optimize the reactor at both the operation and design stages.
This presentation discusses two areas where CFD models have been used for optimizing particle size and catalyst distribution in three-phase fluidized reactors for methanol production from synthesis gas.
