Holistic Curriculum
The Department operates a novel undergraduate program designed to reinforce student learning while enhancing student ability for troubleshooting, diagnosis, problem solving and communication of results. The key features included in the program are:
- integrated design reports for sophomore and junior years
- oral and written reports emphasized throughout curriculum
- economic considerations factored in the proposed engineering solution
- group work
- critical thinking skills developed through role-playing and cooperative learning
- life-long learning skills developed through 'need-to-know' based projects
